Is this a new build with first occupancy?
Yes. The building at Starzenbachweg 16 is being newly built to the KfW 55 efficiency standard and will be ready in Q1 2027. Every apartment is let for the first time.
How far is it to the Deggendorf Institute of Technology?
About 1.1 km as the crow flies: roughly 5 minutes by bike or 15 minutes on foot.
When can I move in?
Completion is planned for Q1 2027, so move-in should be possible for the 2027 summer semester. People on the waiting list hear about the date first.
How much is the rent?
Base rent is roughly €400 to €655 per month depending on size, plus utilities. These are provisional figures; the binding rent is stated in the rental offer.
Are the apartments furnished?
Yes. Every studio has a bed, desk and chair, wardrobe, curtains, bathroom cabinet and a kitchenette with hob, fridge and microwave. You only bring your own mattress.
Is there storage space or a cellar?
Yes. Every apartment comes with its own storage room in the basement – ideal for suitcases, winter clothes, sports gear and moving boxes.
Is the location good for medical students?
Very: the future site of the Medical Campus of Lower Bavaria in the former Elisabethenheim is only about 430 m away.
Is there bike and car parking?
There is bike parking right by the entrance. The building also has 5 car spaces including a carport; just ask if you need one.
Can international students rent here?
